We're thrilled and honored to be the recipient of the 2009 Leighton Award for Nonprofit Excellence given by the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County!
The Leighton Award for Nonprofit Excellence is intended to celebrate, reward, and encourage achievement in the charitable sector. Each year, this $100,000 endowment challenge grant is awarded competitively to a St. Joseph County nonprofit demonstrating superior leadership, management, and programming.
To claim the $100,000 award, SJCPL must raise $100,000 in matching funds from the community by September 2009.
Proceeds from investing the Leighton award funds will help underwrite our largest programs; Science Alive!, Open Book Family Festival, and the Summer Reading Program.
To reach the goal, we need your help.
Donate by cash or check at a service desk at any of our locations. Checks can be made payable to “SJCPL.” (Please write “Leighton” on the memo line)
