You can make it happen!
As I write this, we have 70 days and a few hours until our Leighton Award deadline. If we’re able to raise $100,000 by that time, the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County will match the amount. What an amazing opportunity!
A $200,000 endowment will do so much to enhance our programming in the years to come. Think of Science Alive!, now in its 18th year; the Open Book Family Festival with its authors, illustrators and performers; and the Summer Reading Program for children, teens and adults.
We’ve been surprised and thrilled by the support you’ve given us–from those who took our Library Director Don Napoli’s “$1 per patron” suggestion to heart, to those who have donated several thousand dollars, or encouraged local businesses, organizations or foundations to donate to SJCPL. Our own Staff Association is planning a fundraiser, and our employees are donating to the “Pay Up to Dress Down” campaign, allowing them to wear jeans on special days.
Keep watching the thermometer display on our website and all of our library locations. We’ve made great progress: $70,000! But the clock keeps ticking, with $30,000 to go…
You can help. Donate in person, online, or by mail. Purchase a ticket to the Francis Branch Preview Party to be held on August 6. Join us at the Barnes & Noble BookFair on September 12, when a portion of the net proceeds will go to SJCPL.
As the poster in our commemorative display at the Main Library proclaims, “You were there for SJCPL’s past. Now you can be part of SJCPL’s future.”
Join the excitement. Move the thermometer closer to our goal. You can make it happen!
