Happy Birthday, Erik!
If any of you are Bravo channel fans you may have seen one of my best friends on a reality show called Top Design. Erik and I have been the nearest and dearest of friends since 7th grade.
Growing up we were the group of friends involved in drama and all the social clubs available at Washington High School (Go Panthers!).
We were the winners of the spirit stick every year, and here you can see us doing the homecoming decorations.
I have to say it was exciting watching Erik’s face turn all red when his rooms were under the scrutiny of the judges. It was all quite a nail-biting experience for me. I cheered when his pirate-ship inspired bedroom won him the second challenge. Unfortunately, though, he was bid adeu during episode 6.
Since Erik hit the reality show circuit I told him I was going to do a blog about him. And what better day to blog than on his 25th birthday (You’re welcome, Erik ;-) And since this is a library blog it seems fitting to close with a couple of Erik’s book picks.
Erik’s favorite books as a child were…
The Headless Cupid by Zilpha Keatley Snyder
and the Choose Your Own Adventure Series
Currently Erik’s reading…
The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger
Devil in the White City by Erik Larson

I enjoy watching Inside the Actor’s Studio on Bravo but have never seen this show. It sounds fun-I’ll have to check it out!

Tara, You are Wonderful! SJCPL is very luck to have you. I love the reminder of my age. However you are a little mixed up. I am only 23 this year. It is you that is much older.
I love you,
Erik with a “K” Class of 1997
