What could be better than a program involving quilting? Perhaps a program including quilting, books by a best selling author, and gardening? We will have to work on that. However, two out of three is pretty good in my book.
Please join us on April 29th at 5:00 p.m.
In keeping with our One Book, One Michiana theme, the lower level of the Main Library will be transformed into an exhibit of Civil War era reproduction quilts and wall hangings. Light refreshments similar to those served during the war will be available.
At 6:00 p.m., author Jennifer Chiaverini, New York Times Best Selling author of quilt themed books, will present her newest book, Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker. Her book describes the relationship Mary Todd Lincoln had with her freed slave dressmaker, Elizabeth Keckley during and after Lincoln’s presidency.
Following a Q & A session after the presentation, at 7:00 p.m., Jennifer Chiaverini will sign your books. Feel free to bring your camera if you would like your picture taken with her. Barnes and Noble will be on hand with copies of her books for sale that you can also have signed. See you there!
