Snowflakes for Sandy Hook

Stop by the Children’s Services Department at the Main Library between now and January 6th and make a paper snowflake to show your support to the students of Sandy Hook Elementary. The Connecticut PTSA is requesting paper snowflakes so that they can use them to transform the new school building into a winter wonderland to welcome students back to school after their winter break. The Hartford Courant reports that snowflakes are already pouring in from all across the country and even from as far away as England, Hong Kong,  Germany, and Iraq. The National PTA commented about the snowflake project that, “We encourage senders to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike.” Please take a few minutes to make your own unique creation to show the students that you and our entire community cares.
