The book: Moon over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool

This book is about: a girl listening to a story.

I laughed when: they made the fake elixir.

I was worried when: Ned went to war.

This book taught me: to be confident and have hope, and never give up.

Other kids reading this book should watch for: all the clues that she keeps taking out of the box.

Three words that best describes this book are: past, clues, mystery.

You should read this book because: It has mystery along with history. And I like how at the end everything ties in.

Thanks Rebekah for a great book review! If you are a kid who would like to share your recommendation, stop by Children’s Services at the Main Library or the Francis Branch to tell us about a book you’ve read this summer!

  1. Very well done review Rebekah! I have this to add – have you read Because of Winn Dixie? Did you think of that book as you read this one? I did – several times. Different setting and story, but I think there are parallels between the two main characters and what they provide to the two towns. I really liked this book!
